Saligna, like most other Eucalyptus trees are originally from Australia, but is naturalized in Southern Africa. The trees are grown in plantation in the North-eastern parts of the country. The heartwood is pale pink to pinkish red and even textured. It is used for furniture and cabinetmaking.
